     Somerset MA is a waterfront community of more than 18,000 residents. Somerset has a reputation of having a superior school system. There are 4 elementary schools, 1 Middle school and 1 High School. Somerset has an award winning band and offers many sports & music  programs for its youths.
      In October the town kicks off its annual Musictown Festival. The year 2010 marks its 37th year. The festival celebrates the towns dedication to music and musicians.  
     Somerset is located 20 miles southeast of Providence, RI and 44 miles south of Boston. The town is located on the westeren shore of the Taunton River and Mount Hope Bay. Somerset is boarded by Freetown to the North, Swansea to the west, and connected to Fall River to the east by the Braga Bridge.

    Pierce Beach located off South St has many new improvements recently. The beach has a new look and new playground equipment geared for the little ones.

    Restaurants in Somerset MA include Ma Raffas on County St and Magoni's Ferry landing just over the Brightman St bridge, offers many Italian Favorites at affordable prices. Chad's Chowder House located on rte 6 has received many awards for its Clam Chowder & Fish & Chips. Somerset Creamery on rte 6 offers homemade Ice Cream since 1937. A short distance on rte 6 into Swansea Ma is the famous Venus De Milo Restaurant. Operating for over 50 years, the Venus has been voted the " Best Baked Stuffed Lobster in New England " by Emeril Lagasse  The baked lobster is delicious a bit pricey but very nice for a special occasion.
